isaiah's baptism weekend

before we went on our way to utah, we had to make a couple of stops in flagstaff. ammon, the babies and i drove the minivan and sam hopped into the moving van...the EMPTY moving van. hallelujah.

we hadn't eaten breakfast, so i was pretty hungry. well, i think we all were.
i was too busy talking with ammon that when we passed through leupp, and almost 5 minutes out, i noticed sam wasn't behind me any longer.
whaat?
oh great.
i turned around, and booked it back towards leupp.
we saw sam, he stopped, i made a u-ey,
and ammon said, "watch, he's going to come out shaking his head."
and he did.
when he did, we both busted up laughing.
yes, i am a horrible driver.
i don't pay attention, but we made our way back to leupp, picked up some breakfast burritos and they were heavenly.

something similar happened again in flagstaff when we were returning the truck.
i had the gps, and ammon and i were talking.
aaaand, i missed the turn, had to pull a u-ey.
when we got out at the moving van place, sam shook his head again and laughed.
oh man.
we finally got rid of that truck and were on our way to utah.
we sang, and laughed, and joked.
it was such a fun road trip.

one of the best parts was driving past these towering red rocks.
i remember when we were moving from utah to wisconsin and i cried as we pulled out of our driveway. i thought i'd never get to see these red rocks again, utah valley, the mountains, all of it.
and now, well, now it's nice to be home.

but the best part was reuniting with my two older babies.
they have the best aunts and uncles.

they had girls night with makayah.
fun guy stuff with isaiah.
and the night we rolled in, they were at their very first concert with their auntie myha and uncle nathan.

if we had gotten there just 2 hours earlier, we would've made it to "imagine dragons" too.
it was good to have them back in my arms.

the weekend flew by.
it was saturday morning and we ran around trying to get everything ready for isaiah's baptism.

it warmed my heart seeing all of our friends and family there, supporting isaiah. what a beautiful reunion. the event was made even more special with his daddy baptizing him. isaiah was so excited (and tired), but i know he was truly looking forward to this event, and it humbled me how serious he was about it.

we had lunch with all our friends, and it is lovely how time can go by, and when you get back together, it's like everything is the same. it's great.
we ran some errands afterwards at ikea, went to our niece's baby blessing the next day, and had to leave right after.

there is just never enough time with everyone, but i'm so glad we live closer now.

i really do look forward to these mini family reunions.

my mountain. see you again, soon. :)
