this is seriously my favorite time of the year, DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!! i get an extra hour of SLEEP! how great is that? so anyway, we just returned from our ward halloween party, and we are exhausted! we spent all day exploring and eating in downtown geneva. it was fun, but now we are so tired. the ward party was great, mostly chatting and keeping an eye out for our adorable little eyore. he was so caught up in chasing a balloon pumpkin, and everyone around him couldn't help but want to pick him up and squeeze his chunkiness.
the weeks have been flying by, and isaiah has been growing up. he now has five teeth, the sixth is on the way. he loves babbling on and on just about everything. the other night at mutual, sam was giving a talk to the youth and he asked if anyone had any questions at the end...no one replied except for isaiah who said loud and clear, "no!" everyone looked back and laughed. what a guy. he's still practicing his walking skills and is getting better by the day. and you know i'm over here praying my heart out that he masters it soon! another thing he just loves...teletubbies! i couldn't believe it. i've always hated that show...but what can you do? it puts a smile on my kid's face, and i'd bend over backwards to make him happy. so, teletubbies it is. he LOVES that show.
forgive me now, because i really need to vent. you know what really, really busts my buttons? a particular mother who doesn't work, but complains about having to spend time with her kid who is in pre-school 4 days out of the week, who see his nanny after school, and also gets dropped off at his grandmother's house on the weekends so his mother can go out to parties!!!! poor sheldon has been crying for most of the evening because he found out at the ward halloween party that his mom (leslie) was dumping him off with sister muller for the weekend so she could go to her adult halloween party with some guy. might i remind you that she is a married woman? and sister muller turns to me and says that sheldon is so spoiled because he is crying after his mom, and wants to be with his mom. WHAT!? i told her that she better not talk to me about this because i really don't agree with what leslie was doing, that i have very strong and opposing opinions on the matter, and if she doesn't want to hear them that she had better stop talking to me about the whole situation. i also said that there was nothing wrong with sheldon crying for his mother, and that that is perfectly normal. sheldon is the priority and NOT the stupid party. sam and i were so disgusted by it all, we came home and locked ourselves in our dungeon. now, don't go freaking out...we handled it very politely. we don't wanna get kicked outta here! sam and i just felt really bad for sheldon. he always seems to be ditched here or there. he even has a child protection agent. so, we gave our opinion (because they asked for it) and then shut our mouths. i just really had to get this off my chest.
i feel a bit better. so, i'm gonna go snuggle my boys, and off to sleep for me.
love, monika

Hello Sam and Monika OXOXOXOX
We went to bed early 10:30 old time, acturally 9:30 new time and slept till 7:00. The best sleep I've had all week. Dad went to Ganado for church. Henrietta brought her boys, boy they have grown, I wouldn't have recognized them if they weren't with their mom. I did get a chance to say hi but didn't have a chance to visit since I wa asked to say closing prayer after sacrament. Neva, Bro. Jaques and me were the only ones for primary at the start. Triva, the president, had to take her son to the hospital-he had cut his lip. Chris even taught the 3-5 yr olds, he wants to do it again when needed. Triva showed up during the last hour so she at least did the closing exercises. It was fun. Esther Birtcher invited us along with most of the ward to a farewell dinner for Grant, he was home for just a couple of weeks or so. We stuffed ourselves, everything was so good along with the visiting. We took some home to Warren since he had stomach flu. He is doing alot better but we thought it best to have him stay home today. Friday he woke up vomitting, after a while he was doing it some more so I took him and Renee in to be checked. We were told that they both had viruses, Warren being a bit worse so they had his blood tested. We came home and later in the afternoon they called and said I needed to bring him back because his white blood cell count was too high. They thought it might be apendicitus. They kept him overnight and tested again in the morning and found things back to normal. The doctor thought that the lab might have made a mistake. Dad was very glad that they tested again instead of just operating. ME TOO! So they said he just had stomach flu and had to rest a lot. Dad will tell you about the game in Winslow, I'm sure. He went with Chris and I stayed and took care of the sickies.
This week is finally when I will be training a new person to take my place. It shouldn't take all week. I just wanted the transition to be smooth, since they will be renting from us. I am excited to be free. Thursday Dad and I are taking off for Chris' game in Wickenburg, west of Phx for two nights. I'm looking forward to that, win or lose. The following week we will be in Vegas for a Denny's convention.
Thank you so much for the darling pictures. That was fun to see Isaiah. That is so funny about the teletubbies. I'm so glad that you two are wonderful, caring parents. I think that what you both said to Sis Muller about leslie is what she needed to hear. Maybe she couldn't see the reality because she was too focused on feeling sorry for her daughter. As crazy as it is, you two are a blessing to her. Follow Heavenly Father's promptings, and always come back later and reassure with love.
Well, I still need to email Elder Brown, so I will end here. I love you and miss you all so much. Wish we could afford to zoom over for a weekend. We haven't been to Utah since you all left. Take care and give extra kisses to Isaiah for me.
Love Mom, OXOXOX
so she came over with her tight shirt telling sam how sweet he is and that she'll miss him when he is gone..."oh, and you too, of course, monika". um, thanks. i almost feel bad for her. poor girl. i'm not too worried though cuz she looks like a pirate. yeah, she is always wearing a scarf tied around her head. its kinda weird, but she is a nice gal. i'd rather hang out with her than sister muller. thats for sure. i just might strangle that woman before i leave this place. she really is a nazi. she is a very impatient woman. today she asked if i wanted to go to the park with her (i usually try to slip outta the house without her knowing). so being the nice one that i am, i said yes. "okay, vee leaf NOW". "Hurry, Hurry vee are late!" "vee onlee haf twenty minutes!" so i took my time and enjoyed the stroll down the leedel (i really hate that word) village. she kept asking if she could take the stroller, but i said, "no, no, i'm fine". i think that agravated her even more. "indians do not care if zey are late, yes? you and sam, don't hurry ven vee are in a rush". "yep, thats true. i don't like to be rushed. we're only on time for important things." "yes, yes, but vee are late". "oh, its okay, see, this is why i go to the parks alone, so i don't have to rush." "yes, this is true". she is an interesting lady to say the least. she has no shame. she even called me FAT! can you believe that? oh well. she is kooky. but, i'm rambling now. i hope this saturday goes smoothly.
cheers, monika
oh, sister muller is a handful. she's a real cooky lady sometimes. i wonder how she survives in her own country sometimes. i made navajo tacos last night for them and they loved it. so it was good. things have been going well...sam is doing great...not much to do for him at the office as of yet. so thats good cuz he is able to leave early from work sometimes and spend more time with us. yea.
everyone LOVES isaiah of course. sister muller is always fussing over him... maybe a little too overbearing sometimes..but i've gotten used to it. it might just be a european thing. european woman are really pushy. so i really have to stand my ground with her sometimes. we'll have some funny stories to tell though. she likes to correct my english and tell me what america is like. when i try to correct anything she says no, no, no...it is THIS way. oh well. she is funny. but i better keep this short. i have laundry to do and i don't want isaiah to get fussy.
...but I guess we will see how we get along...anyways about that fry bread...did they love the tacos? are people nicer to you because you are brown? do they believe you are from the states....what type of neighborhood do you all live in?
