autumn walks to school

if there's one thing i just absolutely love, it's autumn time in madison. the trees turn gorgeous shades of red, yellow, and orange. if there's one thing i love more than autumn time, it's walking my kids to school in the crisp autumn air, amongst the falling red, yellow, and orange leaves. it's pretty awesome.

the fresh air did wonders for my well-being. i really wished i would have taken the better camera along - the golden sunlight bursting through the golden leaves...agh! where's my real camera when i need it?

i usually try to walk isaiah to school whenever the weather is nice out - and whenever we are ready in time to make the 15 minute walk. today was one of those days and i figured i might as well walk makayah to school too. she had been begging me for weeks for me to walk her to school. it's a mile away, and we've done it before in the jogging stroller, so i thought, why not?

we scootered isaiah to school, waved and blew kisses goodbye (this is my most favorite part - especially since he looks back several times waving and blowing kisses along the way).  next, we slowly made our way through more autumn trees and quiet neighborhood streets to makayah's pre-school. we were a little late, but that's okay. makayah thought it was a fun walk, but too long and tiring for her to do again. ;)

our little photo journal of the walk:

it's not that fun unless we stop and throw handfuls of leaves above our heads.
and unless we can scooter on over to our destination.
and collect leaves to paste on the windows to add to our fall leaf collection.
and most of all, help mama push little mimzy along the way.
