cardboard tunnels

Saturday

we were left with a ginormous pile of cardboard boxes after all the unpacking we've been doing.
it only made sense to make a ginormous maze out of the ginormous pile of boxes.
so, we got out the duct tape, and went to town...

the tunnel began in the living room and snaked it's way into the kitchen and also split off towards the bottom of the stairs.

the kids had a blast going through, over and over and over again, until it began to cave in with all the wiggling through. yep, i even shimmied my way through. however, i'd forgotten that the tunnel became smaller and smaller towards the end and the kids had to pull me out when i reached the end point. it was fun.

the tunnel took up lots of time, but we still were left with the evening sun, looking out the window missing our daddy.

with daddy gone, isaiah and makayah helped me put the babies to bed.

after kisses, cuddles, songs, and stories had been divvied out, i put my legs up and watched my girly shows with my pals, ben and jerry. they are great company when sam is gone. ;)

today i am grateful for:

*quality time with my kids. we're trying to pack in as much as we can before school starts.
*ice cream and "monika" movies. as much as i love sam and miss him - it's fun to have a night to myself and watch the movies i love that sam doesn't necessarily care for. hey - we don't have to like the same things all the time. ;)
*cardboard boxes - so many possibilities!
