dear mimzy...

oh my precious mimzy,
i know it has been hard for you these past days. so many things have changed in your small world. mommy left to the hospital and didn't come back for several days.
mommy hasn't been able to hold or rock you to sleep at night.
mommy hasn't been able to pick you up and bounce you down the stairs like she used to.
and suddenly, there is a new person in the house...

you were filled with relief when you were able to see me at the hospital. you came up to me and hugged and kissed me. i held you for a while to ease your fears. once you had been comforted, your attention turned towards your new baby brother. you held him and didn't want to let go. in fact, you grunted at anyone who came close, and tightened your grip on your new playmate.

and now that the new baby and i are back home with you, your love hasn't waned. however, it has been rather difficult to resist the temptation to give his baby chub a little pinch here and there. by the way, just in case you may be curious, he doesn't like it.



and then there's the issue of being booted out of your baby status.

and the possibility that things might just go back to the way things were if you could only fit back into your old car seat.



but then again...

all you ever want to do is hold your baby mosiah.

sometimes you are very good at being gentle.

and then there are times when your love is fierce and smothering.

not to worry, i don't think mosiah minds too much.

mostly because, i think he knows you love him...

and that someday,

when he can do more than just lie there in your loving arms, 

someday when he can run around and play with you,

he'll know that you're always going to be there for him, 

that, someday and forever, he will know that you will be his very best friend...

always.
