the mornings are nice and calm when we start out with reading time.
i wanted to do something fun to celebrate autumn and the impending holiday of halloween.
so, to get into the spirit of things, we painted halloween lanterns.
anything that involves paint is a hit around here.
however, mimzy is a little too wild about it all. it was time to put the paints away, and i had asked them to clean up. she didn't want to - surprise, surprise.
instead of cleaning, as soon as i turned my back, mimzy grabbed the paintbrush and swiped her face with paint.
i came out and she said, "taadaa!"
i gave her a mom look and told her no more painting on herself.
she slumped her shoulders and said, "awww!"

mimzy danced the rest of her night away, which wasn't long at all, and went up to bed with "zayah" and "kiah".
it's a good thing we bought them beds.
