a snowy weekend

after isaiah's saturday morning basketball practice and game, sam was stoked about his boy playing his (daddy's) favorite sport. so stoked in fact, that we drove all the way out to the johnson's creek outlets to buy basketball gear for him.

while the boys were busy trying on shoes and gear, i was busy keeping these two girls occupied.

nowadays, mimzy is pretty obsessed with her cute little tongue.

sisterly love.

we also had to hit up the mall when we got back into madison. after all this shopping, daddy took the kids to the chapel to try out all the new stuff. i stayed home and sewed in peace and quiet.

sunday:

church was great.

snack time was yummy.

and even when mims was done with her snack, she insisted on staying in her seat just so she could blow raspberries onto her tray...

...and play with the crumbs.

she'll start chucking food off her tray when she is done eating. that's our cue to get her down and wiped up. we're trying to work on a new approach to this whole chucking food bit.

"all gone. i have no clue where my food went."

"i'm done. my tray is cleared. now get me out!"

somehow i mustered up enough energy to take the kids outside and play in the snow.

in awe.

where to go? what to do next?

big brother help.

i was a tad too anxious to unstuff our front closet, and had packed away samiyah's snowsuit. oopsie.

isaiah, makayah and their friend, tristine tried to make a fort.

but, a snowball fight ensued...

and delayed the construction.

distracted by revenge.

somehow after all this fun, we ended up with a grouch on our hands. she wasn't happy about having to go to time-out.

she quickly changed her attitude when she heard isaiah was helping to make dinner. she wanted to join the action. my kids love playing "chef."

isaiah made the salsa verde. he peeled all the tomatillos, the garlic, the onion, and put everything in the blender. he did such a good job and the salsa was to die for! :)

makayah helped daddy make the carne asada. the sunday meal was scrumptious, thanks to our little helpers.

today i am grateful for:

*sam's appreciation of all i do. it really meant a lot that he expressed it. :)
