being here suddenly made everything laid back and care free.
i finally knew what, "easy like a sunday morning" was supposed to feel like.
we had time to watch a couple of cartoons, time to perfect scooting abilities,
time to hug the pachyderms left in our walkway.
when we finally did get dressed for church, we piled in the van with my parents and drove to Hilo, located on the other side of the island.
the desert side of the island.
snacks along the way.
we drove along the edge of the island's northern rainforest/jungle.
an hour and a half later we found the Hilo chapel.
there just so happened to be a missionary from my dad's ward back home in Arizona. He was happy and surprised to see familiar faces. i really wish i would've taken a picture now that i think about it.
the ward was so friendly, and yes, laid back. our little ones ran around the garden area with the other little kids while we listed to the talks during the sacrament meeting. it was wonderfully relaxing and spiritually uplifting.
mosiah crawled around the garden area and explored the strange texture of the grass.
at first, it looks rough and prickly, but beneath your feet, it's like walking on soft sponges.
the ward members asked if we were staying for good, hoping we'd say yes, but it was time to say good-bye and head back to the other side of the island.
before leaving we picked up some dinner and took pretty pictures.
just horsing around.
just having a good time.
happy sunday.
the end.
