frozen yogurt and a walk to the lake...it's springtime!

last night mimzy ran into one door and one wall within 10 minutes. that was the last straw. her hair has been a constant magnet for oatmeal, honey, playdoh, and basically anything her sticky fingers can get into. i didn't want to cut bangs, but she just doesn't sit long enough for me to properly fix her hair and get it out of her face. after the door and wall incidents last night, i spritzed her hair, held her down and cut her bangs as best i could amidst her wailing and flailing.

i think it turned out decent enough.

lucky for her, she's cute no matter what.

she's happier now that she's not smacking into walls.

and once her bangs grow out, she may have developed some kind of patience for hair grooming.

there's nothing better than walking hand in hand with your sister...

with the freshly rained upon grass and sidewalk beneath your bare feet.

okay, maybe red mango frozen yogurt just might be better...

i think the temperature had almost reached a very warm 80 degrees. frozen yogurt with daddy was heavenly.

and so was the walk to this beautiful spot by the lake.

although it was warm, the lake was still pretty chilly.

the freezing water didn't stop them from kicking off their shoes and running in and out.

mimzy wanted to get out...desperately.

but she had to settle for looking out over the lake - and not jumping right into it.

we need to come here more often, especially now that the duckies are out.

it's always more fun when daddy comes along. :)

swollen feet - it looks like it's time to head back.

but, not without more pictures.

and a game of chase down the sidewalk.

days like these are gems.
