breaks ups and make ups

there comes a time when one is to the point of waddling, can't bend down, huffing and puffing from obnoxious braxton hicks contractions, and just plain ol' worn out - enough is enough.

break up and make-up #1:
we had a very busy holiday season. i love taking pictures and i loved having the extra money during the holidays...but, the relationship i was developing with my once beloved camera and editing software was becoming jaded and a heavy burden to bear. i turned my back, and despite it's less attractive optics and incomparable pixel strength, i began a secret love affair with my iphone's easy share and edit buttons. my mark II and i only recently got back together - or at least tried - on saturday night while at the ice skating party. unfortunately, it didn't go very well. mark is pretty heavy set and required all my attention along with my two, already full of baby, hands. the weird lighting aggravated mark, making him so finicky to the point where i had to constantly fiddle with his buttons. the ice skating rink was simply not the place to end our separation. i definitely want to make up, especially now that deadlines are no longer standing in our way. i long for the rekindling of magic and spark, seeing the beautifully crisp photos of my bright-eyed babes. yes, they are the reason i became addicted to photo snapping in the first place. i'm excited for this week - especially with it being valentine's day tomorrow, it's the perfect time to reunite and get back to the blissful beginnings of unpaid, pressure-free picture taking and editing at my leisure.

break up #2
last week i managed to run/walk half a mile. that's it. i was almost at the point of having to hold my very round and heavy belly with both arms just to pull-off a decent jog. i'm sad to be forced to bid farewell to my vibrams, but with all the braxton hicks contractions and painfully pulling ligaments, i'm afraid running is out of the question until little baby boy is 2 months old. no making up anytime soon.

break up #3
good-bye sweet slumber. it seems the past two nights i've been plagued with last trimester sleep insomnia. mostly due to back and leg cramping, and awkward preggo sleep positions. all i want to do is sleep on my stomach, but can't. i guess i have to say bye-bye to that as well.

break up #4
first of all, i tried. i just want to get that out. my break up with facebook only lasted about a week. but in that one week, i put the finishing touches on isaiah's baby book and completed makayah's baby book. i still have several outfits to sew and an apartment to start packing up, so i will still have to keep my distance from the nagging FB. i have to admit, it's hard to stay away - i feel so out of the loop at times, but our relationship just wasn't a healthy one. now, at least, i seem more capable of not allowing FB to swallow up every free minute of my day, constantly wondering when my phone will beep me a notice. besides, FB was always way too possessive. it's kind of nice not worrying about what people are eating at every hour of the day and actually really DO things again. our make up was a bit forced. sam needed my account back up so he could test some page he was working on...and there it stayed. i guess you could say FB and i are just friends now.

quotes of the week:

*isaiah reading the fun friday drink of the night: izzy. "no added sugar?! awwww."

*daddy: is the living room clean?

makayah: um, well, let me just say something. it's ALMOST clean.
