Dizzy

this morning, i woke up feeling like the bed was spinning. i thought i might still be dreaming, but when i turned my head again, the room flipped over and over. i had to hold onto the headboard to try to stop it all. it felt like i was on a roller coaster, and i hate roller coasters. the strange thing was, last night during our date night, i had started to feel better, less stuffed up.

i was pretty sad about feeling so dizzy because i was really looking forward to church today. isaiah had been asked to give a talk, and makayah was the reverence child.

all i could do was stay in bed and lie as still as possible. besides being dizzy, i didn't feel sick at all. but whenever i moved my head, my body flipped and spun, bringing on little headache spasms...and i wanted to do anything possible to divert any feelings of queasiness. still it is.

sam tried to look up possible diagnosis on webmd. middle ear infection? anemia? dehydration? lack of sleep?

just in case it might be anemia, he made me a batch of barley water, rich in iron, for me to sip on. it's actually quite tasty - sam got the recipe off of an episode of dr. oz. he made sure i had everything i needed before tackling the rest of the morning.

sam dressed the kids for church and took them all by himself once again.

when he came home, he fed them and played outside with them, and took them on a meal run to costco. i was actually planning a roasted chicken dinner - i don't blame him for skipping out on that task. ;)

sam rubbed my back, my head, and feet in attempts to make me feel better. he allowed me to basically sleep the day away. he finished up the laundry and tidied things up. he got the kids ready for bed and told me to take it easy. he was amazing today. i honestly don't know what i'd do without him.

as the day wore on, i did actually feel better, especially after my very long nap and cup of barley water.

here are some photos i snuck in:

i am so lucky i get to wake up to this wild thing in the morning.

she wanted to try to drink from a big people cup. but really, i think she just wanted to play with the water.

she likes to make monkey noises because they make me laugh.

i can't get enough of these sweet lips. i love this pucker!

ok, here it is. she tried to drink the water out of the big people cup, but she ended up lapping at the water like a puppy.

so proud of herself. :)

let's try grabbing at the water. that might be easier.

caught some water droplets!

ok, that works too.

this really should be on the valentine's day post, but we just found this heart makayah made stashed away in her backpack. it's a good thing we took a picture of her and her work of art. the heart was sadly ripped seconds later as makayah tried to fold it and put it away. she makes such a beautiful little valentine. :)

the kids were also extremely helpful today. isaiah put away the laundry, makayah cleared the table and kitchen floors, and samiyah wore this rubber yellow glove - chasing her siblings from room to room.

my little helpers.

when isaiah was just a baby/toddler, he used to back up as far as he could go, and then make a run for our open arms, bulldozing us over with his hugs. out of the blue, samiyah began doing the same thing. she loves making a run for hugs and kisses. we like receiving them.

lately, samiyah has been quite clingy to her daddy. she cries after him and all she wants to do is cuddle in his lap and arms.

sam is such a good daddy.

today i am grateful for:

*being pampered by sam. it feels so good to be taken care of.

*little helpers.

*feeling better.

*baby kicks. this morning as i was holding my belly, i felt his foot stick right up into my palm. is was the most awesome thing ever. i've never felt any baby parts so distinctly before. i love this little guy.

  1. Little Mimzy is so sweet! It's so awful to be sick when you are pregnant, yuck! However, it's so wonderful to have a great husband to help take care of you and everything else! Hot Barley tea is good. We drank it a lot in China. Wish I could help you out! If you still lived around the corner I'd be happy to!
