lazy summer days

i think i can safely say that our summer diet is going to consist mostly of popsicles or frozen treats of some kind.

this little boy has been teething and the popsicle has saved his throbbing gums.
i tried to show him how to use the sippy spout on the side, and he just wouldn't have any of it.

but he was just fine when samiyah showed him how to lick.

he's so much happier when his mouth is frozen.

and she's just plain happy.

our days have been pretty easy going. we like to hang out on the patio early in the morning before the sun gets everything too hot to enjoy.
then we eat and snack and maybe watch a movie.
and sometime in the afternoon, we konk out for naps.

this little kid cuddled right into me.

i think i could just spend all my days like this, cuddled right up next to him.

at some point, the kids have recharged and it's time to run out their energy.

we grabbed a box of graham crackers and bottles of water and headed to the park.
shirts are optional...right, mimzy?

we played tag, and surprise, surprise - i was it. it was really tricky and exhausting trying to chase down kids while holding this chubby guy.
so i put him down and he gave me his "angry eyes."

sometimes, summer days are for eating out at the local drive-in, because it's just too hot to cook anything.

and some days, we really enjoy ending our days with a little ditty from some itty-bitties.

the end.
