canyons and monuments

after an adventurous time in window rock, we decided to head up to utah valley for the new year's celebrations. we left early in order to take the scenic route.

it was uncle nathan and auntie myha's first visit to canyon de chelly.

it was a gorgeous, sun-shiney day.

the canyon always takes my breath away.

next stop: monument valley.
again, breathtaking.

we had a nice break walking around, taking pictures, and getting great deals on jewelry.

we loved having uncle nathan and auntie myha with us!

makayah had asked why there weren't any indians living in the hogans...

the sunset was amazing.

i love being able to share this beautiful part of the reservation with my babies.
little man, here, is 6 months in the making.

again...our good photos with our gigantor camera will have to be uploaded when we get back to madison. so, these iphotos will have to do for now.

****
today i am grateful for:

*our road-tripping buddies. we had some great laughs and conversation.

*the beauty that surrounds me and the opportunity to share with my family.

*a safe drive to utah.
