crowfoot christmas eve-ish.

this morning was a busy one. sam had his first final exam at 9am. isaiah had to be at school by 8:30am. makayah had to be at school by 9am. and i had a doctor's appt. at 9am. we rushed around dropping people off, kissing goodbyes, and i finally arrived, on time, to my appointment.

the little guy would not sit still long enough for the nurse to get an accurate heart rate. as soon as she'd find the little one, he'd scurry off someplace else. i love how active he is. the doctor came in, chased after him, got his heartbeat, and all is well.

the kids wanted to feel how wiggly he was...

because we are flying out to arizona on tuesday to spend christmas with my family, we decided to have a little mini christmas here at home before we leave. less luggage, and we simply love the little christmas traditions we have as a family, plus - the less luggage, the better. so, today just happened to be our christmas eve.

it worked out quite perfectly since today is also our fun friday. while samiyah and i took our afternoon nap, isaiah and makayah were allowed to play the wii.

around 5pm, we met up with the native arts and crafts group again. the kids were thrilled to be playing and running around with their friends, the vigils.

here's what we learned and made tonight:

i learned how to do a daisy chain beading pattern.
samiyah loved it.

isaiah and daddy made drum sticks. very cool.

makayah was off playing with her friends, so i didn't get to snap a picture of her. but, on our way out, i did get this one of mimzy trying with all her might to sprout 3 more inches to be able to drink the water that was squirting out.

when we got home, we ate our dinner in the living room on our picnic blanket as we watched 'home alone.' sent the kids off to bed, and readied the christmas things.

i had forgotten to sew samiyah's stocking, and stayed up late to finish.

i'm glad we get to celebrate again with my family in arizona.

today i am grateful for:

*native arts and crafts night - i love learning new skills, especially beading patterns

*a wiggly baby. it makes me smile whenever he's moving around.

*time together as a family.

*samiyah learning how to trash her own diaper. :)
