today is fun friday. i am in desperate need of a wildly fun Fun Friday. this week has wiped me out, mentally, physically, and every other way i can think of - which, i guess is not saying a whole lot since my mind is so fried and has little capability of thinking straight. did i mention i completely forgot it was isaiah's snack day yesterday? yeah, this balancing act is pretty tricky.
mims has a cough and sniffles. she's not feeling too hot. instead of her crack of dawn bottle of milk she usually receives, i made her this green monster drink. kale, pineapple, apples, oranges, cranberries, and carrots. i'm not sure if she was just plain thirsty for anything she could get her hands on, or if she genuinely liked it. she guzzled it all up without a fight. personally, i found it quite satisfying, and i figured this was better than the mucus-making milk.
while i was out, sam had taken on the responsibility of picking up makayah from preschool. this bottle of hand sanitizer is always there to greet us as we step in through the chapel doors. it always makes me giggle. cute and clever. i'm glad sam took a picture of it. he's pretty on top of things.
and since they were already packed in the car, why not make some mischief with a visit to costco?
these little snapshots make me happy.
sam had immediately spent his monthly eating out allowance for december, by the first of december. tsk, tsk, sam. why, you little sneak.
but, that's okay. because, although he was busy with the girls having fun and eating out, he did still find time to study.
we all reunited in the afternoon to pick up isaiah from his play date he had after school, and tried to find our way to the native arts and crafts/drum group that night.
we made dream catchers.
the boys learned a drum song.
yes, even isaiah.
and we made new friends. i'm really glad we found the place, and made time to go.
our fun friday pizza and movie was waiting for us when we got home. okay, so the pizza wasn't exactly waiting, but the pizza dough was waiting. i think we're addicted to homemade pizza. we continued our lord of the rings marathon. as i sat on the couch with a full and happy tummy (not to mention kicking), makayah came up to me and asked, "mom, do you need a cuddler?" i sure do.
i fell asleep at 9:30. the kids and sam stayed up to finish the movie. i must've been tired.
today i am grateful for:
*friends to talk to and eat lunch with...and a husband who made it possible for me to do that without having to chase down any of my children.
*the new friends we made at the arts/crafts/drum group. they are nice people. and it's also nice seeing familiar faces, gathering with old friends, too.
*fun friday movie cuddlers. they are the best.
You're right, Monika. It was definitely better than therapy! Let's do it again soon.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post! I think that I need Fun Fridays at my house too!
