this is a little sister. she likes to begin her day with a bottle of soy or almond milk.
little sisters also like to draw on their older sister's drawings, you know, just to finish it off.
apparently, when you have a little sister, and she wants what you have, and you don't give it to her right away, a cat fight ensues. they started out the morning in time out. reluctantly, hugs and kisses followed.
another thing i'm learning about sisters: they make up pretty quickly - especially so they can dress up and have tea parties together.
and when they do make up, they like to help each other out...
and in rare, but glorious moments, they like to share things like the abacus.
sisters like to giggle and roll around in the clean laundry. they also find that playing "parachute" with the sheets mommy is folding can be super duper fun.
sisters like to cruise, whether it's in a car or on a scooter. they like to laugh and chase each other while cruising, too.
i've been learning so many things about sisters from watching these two little girls. i grew up with a bunch of boys until my parents finally adopted two girls, and another boy about the time i was entering high school. so, really, i was more like a babysitter/parent-figure to my sisters than a sister.
i'm really grateful these girls have each other to play, fight, giggle, hug, and someday talk with. i always wish i had a sister close to me in age to do these things with. but, lucky for me, my mom was a great substitute. ;) i'm grateful for the sisters i do have, and as they've gotten older, it's been nice to hang out whenever we can. it's challenging now, since we live so far apart, and i'm so busy with my family, and they are so busy with their own lives - but i love them just the same.
i hope these two little girls know just how lucky they are to have each other. sisters are priceless.

today i am grateful for:
*a safe drive downtown to pick daddy up from school.
*the energy i finally had to cook up this spaghetti squash as samiyah's baby food for the next couple meals. thanks, cherisse for the inspiration. ;)
*tissue. i'm still sniffling but i'm hoping i'm all better tomorrow.

Your girls are way too cute! The spaghetti squash is awesome. I'm looking forward to cooking more things with it. If you didn't blend it, I bet she had fun with it! Glad your kids are feeling better. Your lentil soup and whole wheat muffins sound delicious! We had some butternut curry with lentils and it was so good. We will have to switch recipes!
