what crowfoot babies do...

little mims.

she is 16 months today.

she likes to go on lunch dates with daddy.

little mims is very independent. she likes to feed herself and does not want help when trying to drink from a cup and straw.

she loves mommy's homemade hummus. and mostly, she likes to lick it off of chips. simply hummus, yum!

little mims has learned how to go up and down the stairs without any assistance at all. sometimes, this can give mommy a heart attack.

she likes to build things. she loves dolls, playing dress up, beauty shop, and "vroooming" the toy cars around the house. with an older brother and sister, she is pretty well-rounded when it comes to playthings.
side note: i often have hair elastics on my wrist just in case i need one. mims decided she needed one around her wrist too, just in case.

mimzy has learned how to throw her own diaper away, and she is excited to do it! i think it helps that we all give her a round of applause after slamming the top down. the only downside to this is, once or twice i found a sippy cup inside the trash can.

mims loves to brush her teeth, without any help, although help is still required and given.

she loves to mimic her big sister. she is such a cute little shadow.

she's actually pretty good at brushing her toofers.

she usually begins to whine whenever we try to take her toothbrush away.

little mims also thinks she knows how to use the phone, and likes to help daddy with games.

mims has learned how to fold her arms for prayer. she's a great example. :) a few other tidbits about our growing mimzy: her favorite words are mommy, daddy, uh-oh, and other babble we can't yet decipher. however, she loves to shake her head "no" to most everything we ask her. she loves to dance and will swipe the iphones, and somehow has learned to turn on the jukebox and start bouncing along. she never forgets to wave "nah-nite" to the family as she is getting ready for bedtime. and she absolutely loves sitting on the couch reading her dinosaur board books, and will beg anyone nearby to read her the stories.

miss makayah.

she is so grown up, and i can't stop looking her. she is so perfectly adorable.

she loves going on lunch dates with daddy, too.

she loves taking time to smell the flowers. i envy those eyelashes of hers.

i love this face.

she loves ballet.

and she has become very good at it.

makayah is a free spirt.

she has become so very witty and smart. she is also a great helper. she is still a firecracker and very stubborn - she is a girl who knows what she wants, and these traits will come in handy for her down the road. it is bittersweet watching her grow up, but it has been so entertaining and so much fun. she amazes me.

isaiah, the older brother.
he is an artist. a fabulously talented one.

we've framed as many as we can. and stuck the others up wherever there is space.

i love how creative he is.

i need to take more pictures of him. however, if i want to get a good one, i have to get the good, bulky camera out, he is just too fast for me and my camera phone. he is such a good kid. for the most part, he is a good listener and helper. he loves school and being with his friends. he is funny and is a great storyteller. he is so very musically eclectic. lately, he's been very interested in "the beatles." sam has been putting the kids to bed for the past weeks and instead of my regular church lullabies, i've overheard his musical lessons on bob dylan, bob marley, and the beatles - just to name a few. isaiah is so interested in fact, that he has been begging to call grandma crowfoot to hear her stories of the beatles when she was a little girl.

so, this post was mostly for the grandparents. just keeping you updated.

quotes of the day:
makayah: mo-om! did you know that isaiah has a girlfriend?
isaiah: no i don't.
makayah: yes, you do! and you want to take her on a day-ate...to the end of the rainbow!
isaiah: don't listen to her mom, she's nuts!

today i am grateful for:

*the funny things my kids say. i love that they make me laugh.

*lunch dates with daddy.

*ice chips.

haha, isaiah's following predecessor footsteps (love for music & art) hope he'll always find time for them-- grounding! can i buy his prints to hang in our new house?

makayah is livin' the dream! to have such an early start in ballet will keep her 'balanced' in graceful strength her entire life, even if she leaves it later for other pursuits! it can be tough training but core, stretches & strides learned from the discipline will serve her well through child-bearing years & beyond! she has the spirit & spunk to match the most demanding instruction-- may she RUN & not be weary, DANCE & never faint! LOVE it!
